After nearly two years Malaysia government did not announce a sudden increase in prices of petrol and diesel, Petrol Hawkers Union (Kepepet) urged the government through the Ministry of Finance to revise the two fuel prices.

President of Kepepet, Subki Maarof frustrated with the government that have failed to arouse the anger of the people to go out to the street demonstrations doing some protests.

"Two years is a very long period. We are very sad with the action taken by Prime Minister Dato 'Seri Najib which is he did not continue the legacy of Tun Abdullah," said Subki disappointed. Within one more month to come, it is already two years for Malaysian not having sudden increase in oil prices.

The last time oil prices raised were in June 2008 with an increase of RM0.60 to RM 0.40 for petroleum and diesel. The increament was the highest in 40 years since the history of Malaya merged with Sabah and Sarawak.

Asked why the government should do revision on the fuel prices, Subki said that the government currently has no money.

"10 elections, in one term since the 2008 general election. You think the government still have money? Government has invested billions of ringgit to gain local residents votes. Plus, this is yet to include the 11th one in Sibu. Can you imagine how many million ringgit will be used for example if tomorrow six members of the parliament die?"

More specifically, the government is due to announce an increase in oil prices to ensure that the economy can be driven by more competitively.

The memorandum will be handed during the medal give away ceremony by the Prime Minister to the Malaysia's badminton squad in Bukit Jalil, on Sunday.
